Makayla Seidlitz
Recreational & Team Coach
Makayla was born and raised in Richmond Virginia. Her father Steve is a policeman for Henrico County and her mother is a domestic engineer (stay at home mom). Makayla has been around River City for large portion of her life. Fletcher loved her work ethic and positive attitude so much that he told her to apply for a job the moment she turned 14. She has been working here ever since! Her role and responsibilities have matured since her first day of work. She currently coaches recreational classes up to the Intermediate level. She, also, has a strong presence in the XCEL program. Her favorite event to coach is floor. After graduating from Deep Run High School in the spring of 2019, she will attend J Sergeant Reynolds Community College with the hopes to transfer to Virginia Commonwealth University after two years. She hopes to study business.
Perspective at RCYF:
“The biggest enjoyment I get out of my job is seeing a child discover that he/she is capable of more. Far too often, kids say they ‘can’t’ do something. Through drills and hard work a child can achieve more than he/she previously thought. Pushing past what you think you are capable of is one of the most important life skills an individual can learn. Once you learn to overcome the ‘can’t’ mindset, the world is yours!”
Personal Info:
When not in the gym, you can see Makayla maintaining an active lifestyle. She loves to go for runs. Her runs allow her to block out any distractions and just live in the present. For the past eight years, Makayla has found a passion for playing the piano. She enjoys the mental sweat of learning a new song. Her mental sweat, however, does not stop with the piano. She loves to read! The last book she read was Awakened. She highly recommends it!
